If you’re a freelance journalist and you’d like to pitch a feature, case study, commentary, opinion piece or have another idea to run by us, we’d love to hear from you. We’re based in the UK but welcome pitches from all over the world.

We answer every pitch we receive so if you haven’t heard back from us within a day or two, give us a nudge - we may have missed your email or meant to come back to it later and then… you know, life. We won’t mind being chased up for answers.

Please note, we are not looking for content hooked or based on the current pandemic.

What you’ll need

  • Essentials. A brief pitch (less than 300 words is ideal) with the key info and the picture package on offer. If we want to know more, we’ll ask.

  • Exclusivity. Please don’t pitch us the same info a PR sent around this morning - we’ll have seen it too. Unless, you’ve signed up a cracking case study off the back of it and can offer it to us exclusively, in which case, get in touch. We do take second rights from time to time, so don’t rule us out if you have a brilliant feature.

  • Experience. You'll ideally have experience writing features for national newspapers and/or magazines. But we do commission new and junior writers as we support fresh talent, so please have a read of our freelancer terms to give you an idea of what’s expected. We’ve also created a pitching template. You don’t have to use it, but it might help clarify the information we typically look for.
